The Netherlands Film Production Incentive scheme has selected 17 new film projects. The projects by EAVE graduates supported in the first round are:

  • WHO IS ANNE FRANK? by Ari Folman, co-producer: EAVE graduate and Head of Studies Jani Thiltges

IDFA Bertha Fund

  • BLOOD IN THE EYE by Toia Bonino, producer: EAVE+ graduate Gema Juarez Allen is supported by the IDFA Bertha Fund. After leaving prison where he spent the last 14 years, Leo (36) remains imprisoned with an idea: to avenge the death of his younger brother, Ale. The film confronts us with other ethical codes. Are we able to understand those who we have been taught to fear? The film is in development.


German-French Commission 

  • THE WIFE OF THE PILOT by Anne Zohra Berrached, producer: EAVE graduate Verona Meier is supported by the German-French Commission of the FFA. The project has already received the Eurimages Co-Production Development Award at this year’s Berlinale.


The Croatian Film Centre announced the production grants for 2018:

  • KUCNA PRASINA by Nina Violic, producer: EAVE graduate Zdenka Gold.


The Czech State Cinematography Fund grants 13 minority co-productions. Among them are:

  • HORECKA by Helen Simon, producer: EAVE graduate Jiri Konecny
  • CENSORKA by Peter Kerekes, producer: EAVE graduate Jiri Konecny


Slovenian Film Centre

  • GOD EXISTS, HER NAME IS PETRUNIJA by Teona Strugar Mitevska, producers: EAVE graduate and Macedonian National Coordinator Labina Mitevska, Sébastien Delloye, EAVE group leader Danijel Hocevar gets support from the Slovenian Film Centre. The film tells a simple, almost comical story that shows the absurdities of the world we live in, focusing on a day in the life of Petrunija, a single, unemployed, 31-year-old woman, who decides to do the unthinkable and intervene in the world of men. Macedonia's Sisters and Brother Mitevski Production is producing in co-production with Entre chien et Loup from Belgium and is currently negotiating with Slovenia’s Vertigo, expecting one or more European countries joining the project. The film recently received support from Creative Europe, the Macedonian Film Agency and Belgium Film and Tax Shelter. The film was presented at Paris Co-production village, Venice Bridge Gap and Cinelink Sarajevo, where it won the top award for development given by Eurimages.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away on March 3. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
