The San Sebastian Festival partners with the Producers Network and Ventana Sur
The San Sebastian Festival adds two strategic partners to the Co- production Forum, consolidating a key triangle for the Latin American and European film industry:
On the one hand, the Producers Network, the ideal framework and essential meeting place for producers at the Festival de Cannes Marché du Film, the most important event in the world film industry. The agreement permits the producers of the Latin American projects selected for the San Sebastian Co- production Forum to attend the coming edition of the Producers Network or the Producers Workshop.
On the other hand, six producers of the European projects selected for the Forum will have the opportunity to participate in the coming edition of Ventana Sur, a market organized by the Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales de Argentina (INCAA) and the Marché du Film, taking place annually in Buenos Aires and constituting a bridge between the Latin- American audiovisual industry and the rest of the world. The European producers will have the chance to present their projects to industry professionals.
With this agreement, the San Sebastian Co-production Forum aims to promote the projects selected and extend the network of professional contacts for their producers thanks to their participation in the Cannes and Ventana Sur markets.
The Europe-Latin America Co-production Forum is aimed at developing fiction and transmedia projects with a minimum duration of 60 minutes and20% of their financing already assured. European projects should have an express link with Latin America.
The projects to participate in the Forum will be chosen by the Festival Selection Committee based on the reports of three international experts: Sophie Bourdon, Manuel Pérez Estremera and Federico Veiroj.
The registration deadline for projects is 30 June. More information and the online form can be found at: www.sansebastianfestival.com.

Upcoming deadlines
Call for applications: EAVE 2013 European Producer Workshop Deadline October 1, 2012
EAVE, European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs, is one of the leading training and development providers for producers in Europe, renowned for its European Producers Workshop.
Who is it for?
EAVE is aimed at producers, both fiction and documentary, who are already working in the film and television industries, who wish to begin to operate on a European wide basis by increasing their knowledge of producing and co-producing in Europe and by building up a pan European professional network. We also welcome applications from associated branches of the industry - e.g. commissioning, funding, legal and finance, festivals & markets, media administration. Each year fifty participants are selected from most of the EU countries and beyond and take part in three one-week long workshops.
How does it work?
Half the participants attend the course with projects and it is an excellent means of development through intense focus on the project with colleagues and experts throughout the year. Most participants attending with a project also bring their writer for the first two weeks which enables producer and writer to benefit together from one-to-one sessions with script experts.
During the first two workshops, in March and June, participants work within groups led by experienced producers and with several experts on script analysis, development and production financing, legal aspects of co-production, marketing, pitching, packaging and more. In the third week in October/November, 40-50 Decision Makers (commissioning editors, national and regional media funds, sales agents, etc.) join the participants to discuss the projects, companies and careers of the participants, a process which offers unusual access to Europe's Decision Makers.
EAVE graduates join a unique network of active European producers which forms one of the backbones of the industry. Furthermore, EAVE participants and members benefit from our partnerships with the leading European film festivals and markets where EAVE facilitates graduate participation.
Timeline
The interviews with all candidates will take place in autumn 2012 and the selection will be announced in December 2012. The 3 workshops take place during March 11 - 18 in Luxembourg (LU), June 12 - 19 in Turku (FI) and October/November, TBC in Vienna (AT) 2013.

Dear EAVE Producers,
EAVE is delighted to continue its partnership with the HOLLAND FILM MEETING taking place during September 27-30, 2012 in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
The Holland Film Meeting (HFM) is the international heartbeat of the Netherlands Film Festival, providing a series of business-oriented events for the international professionals in attendance. The HFM consists of the Benelux Screenings, the Netherlands Production Platform (NPP), professional workshops and panels, the Cinema Militants Programme and the Binger-Screen International Interview. The focus this year will be on the prospering film industry of Turkey.
The NPP presents a maximum of 25 Dutch and European new independent film projects to a selected group of European and Dutch industry professionals with the aim to encourage co-production and/or collaboration between European countries and the Netherlands. The participating international and Dutch professionals cover the areas of production, sales, financing, distribution and funding.
Essential elements in the presentation sessions are the authenticity of the story and the international appeal and market potential of the project.
