Biography

Deborah started her journey working as a broadcast technician, shooting producer/director and editor across a range of factual, entertainment and sports magazine shows before moving into production. She set up REDCARPET MEDIA to develop film and documentary projects beginning with a slate of award winning short films initially self financed then in collaboration with regional and national screen agencies. Films including THE SPORTS WIDOW, CRUSH, THE UNGONE and TRIGGA through support of The British Council and Creative England her has work gained international audiences securing festival participation and curated screenings from LONDON to CANNES and THESSALONKI to TORONTO. Deborah has collaborated with other companies including swish Films on the Royal Television Society award nominated music documentary MADE IN BIRMINGHAM. Deborah is an experienced production manager and Line producer and has recently completed work on THE LAST WITNESS a feature film about the KATYN massacres directed by Piotr Szkopiak and the BFI/Ffilm CYMRU Wales backed RAY AND LIZ directed by Turner-prize nominated and Deutsche Börse Prize winning artist Richard Billingham. She worked with Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje on his debut biopic feature FARMING and Anglo Asian comedy EATEN BY LIONS and recently Line Produced NUCLEAR for Ffilm Cymru Wales as part of their CINEMATIC scheme. Deborah has been supported by CREATIVE ENGLAND through their CREATIVE PRODUCER INITIATIVE as well as making and developing films through the iShorts and iFeatures programmes to develop her own slate as a producer.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away in 2016. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
