Apply now and until March 6, 2017 for the eighth edition of PUENTES – Europe / Latin America Co-Production Workshop

We are delighted to announce a new partnership with RE-ACT, an initiative set up in 2015 by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, Friuli Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund and Slovenian Film Centre aimed at developing new audiovisual projects and fostering international co-productions.

Paolo Vidali, Managing Director of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund, says: ''Thanks to the collaboration between RE-ACT and EAVE, PUENTES will create a new, additional opportunity for companies and professionals from our territories to increase their skills and to have access to a partnership with such an important part of the world.''

Kristina Trapp, EAVE’s CEO, adds: “I am absolutely delighted for PUENTES to partner with RE-ACT. EAVE has a long and successful working tradition with the RE-ACT regions and organisations and the timing for this partnership is perfect. Our common wish is to bring Europe and Latin America closer together with concrete initiatives, funding actions and continuing concrete results in the future.”

PUENTES is the most relevant and successful training programme for developing European-Latin American co-production. AMAZONA by Clare Weiskopf just premiered at IDFA - First Appearance Competition. Some other recent examples of films developed at PUENTES are for example THE BLACK FROST by Maximiliano Schonfeld (Berlinale Panorama 2016), and many more.

The above mentioned projects had been selected for the PUENTES – Europe / Latin America Co-Production Workshop, where the projects were developed over one year by the attending producers under the guidance of top notch consultants, working on the script development, the financial, co-production, marketing and distribution strategies and where the producers extended their professional network meeting key players of the industry in Europe and Latin America.

PUENTES is targeted at Latin American & European producers with projects, 10 of which will be selected for the workshop. We are also open to receive the applications of other European professionals interested in working with Latin America (sales agents, financiers, distributors, festival programmers, co-production market representatives) or European producers without project. 4 of them will be selected to be an active part of the group.

The 14 selected participants attend 2 workshops. The first one will be held in Pula, Croatia (July 12-16, 2017) in partnership with RE-ACT. Workshop 2 will be held in Montevideo, Uruguay (November 23-27, 2017) in partnership with Mutante Cine. Thanks to a special partnership, all participants are able to attend VENTANA SUR (Nov 27-Dec 1, 2017, in Buenos Aires).

Find out all about the target group, the application criteria and regulations on the EAVE website:

The selection will be made by a selection committee and will be published by the end of April 2017. Selection interviews might be held via SKYPE.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away on March 3. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
