- POWER by Matyas Prikler, producers: EAVE graduates Katarina Krnacova and Viktoria Petranyi is shooting. The film is a Slovak/Czech/Hungarian co-production and stars the Hungarian director and actor Kornel Mundruczo. The story follows a well-established politician who gets involved in an accidental death while hunting. Suddenly the media starts to lead an uncomfortable investigation, suspecting him of the killing. Slovakia‘s MPhilms is producing in coproduction with Negativ from the Czech Republic, and Hungary's Proton Cinema. Slovak Audiovisual Fund supported the project. Producers are still seeking a Belgian or French co-producer to get involved.
- EDEN by Agnes Kocsis, co-producer: EAVE graduate Oana Giurgiu is in production. Written by the director, EDEN is a special love story. It is about a woman in her late thirties who is allergic to everything; therefore, she lives in total isolation. Produced by József Berger for Mythberg Films, EDEN is being co-produced by Oana Giurgiu for Romanian outfit Libra Film, with the involvement of Alain Berliner for Belgian firm WFE. The feature, which is being backed by the Hungarian Film Fund, the Hungarian tax incentive scheme and the MEDIA Programme’s development support, is being filmed until late February, with five additional days scheduled for May. Principal photography is taking place in Mafilm Studios, in Budapest and at various locations in the Hungarian countryside.
- THE COUNTRY by Grimur Hakonarson, producer: EAVE graduate Ditte Milsted is shooting. The story follows Inga, a middle-aged cattle farmer who is forced to stand on her own two feet after her husband dies in a car accident. Starting a new life, she will also be forced to fight against the injustice that rules her corrupt countryside community. THE COUNTRY is an Icelandic-Danish-German-French co-production. Netop Films is teaming up with Denmark’s Profile Pictures, Germany’s One Two Films and France’s Haut et Court. The film has received the support of the Icelandic Film Centre, the Nordisk Film & TV Fond, the Danish Film Institute and SR Fernsehen/arte. Shooting is planned to start in late February.
