MOON HOTEL KABUL now in post-production
In Post-Production September 2017
- TRANSIT by Christian Petzold, co-producer: EAVE graduate Antonin Dedet is in post-production. After filming took place in Marseille, Christian Petzold is currently in the process of finishing his 11th collaboration with Schramm Film Koerner & Weber, this time in co-production with the EAVE graduate’s company Neon Productions, as well as the channels ZDF and Arte. TRANSIT, written by Petzold himself, is an adaptation of the eponymous novel by Anna Seghers, published in 1944. The hero, Georg, is a young man who attempts to flee France via Marseille after the Nazi invasion, borrowing the identity of a suicidal author whose papers he possesses. While waiting for the steamer to take off in Marseille, he meets Marie, a young woman who is desperately trying to find her missing husband after being told that she'll be able to find him there. Her husband is none other than the very author that Georg is impersonating. TRANSIT has received support from the Franco-German Committee, the FFA, the German Ministry of Culture and Media, the Regional Fund from Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and Eurimages.
- MOON HOTEL KABUL, produced, written and directed by EAVE graduate Anca Damian, co-producers: EAVE graduates Tom Dercourt and Sophie Erbs is in post-production. The plot: Ivan Semciuc (a journalist), is a charismatic man nonetheless guilty of cynicism and lack of compassion. A seemingly meaningless sexual encounter with a translator in a hotel room in Kabul produces a vital revolution in Ivan’s unshakeable lifestyle. After Ivan’s arrival back to Bucharest, Ioana is found dead, with her wrists cut. Ivan starts living in the absent presence of Ioana, who is starting to be more vivid in death than in life. The project has received support from the Romanian National Cinema Fund, the MEDIA Programme, HBO, Orange and Eurimages.
