EAVE ANNOUNCES NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH EUROPA DISTRIBUTION and EUROPA INTERNATIONAL

Special discount for Europa Distribution & Europa International members for the EAVE Film Marketing Workshop

EAVE Film Marketing Workshop, November 28 - December 2, 2012 in Luxembourg

A four-day intensive programme exploring film marketing throughout the process of development, production, festival screening, exhibition and distribution.

Intensive Film Marketing Training for European Film Professionals

*One to one consultancy

*Case studies

*Leading professional experts

Every film, big or small, cultural or mainstream, is trying to attract investors, public support, a director and cast, distributors, cinema exhibitors and eventually the cinema-going public. No matter how good a film is, without a well conceived and cost-effective marketing plan, it has little chance of success in the very crowded and competitive marketplace.

A practical approach

The Film Marketing Workshop emphasizes a ‘hands-on’ and practical approach using current films and modern marketing techniques in a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere.

Much of the programme takes the form of a round table during which a variety of high level professionals make presentations and lead discussion. All participants are encouraged to take a full part throughout the workshop including working on marketing plans for an unreleased feature. During the one-to-one sessions participants present their projects and receive expert feedback and advice.

This 4-day intensive workshop is an in depth training for film professionals (e.g. producers, distributors, sales agents, marketing staff) covering all the necessary stages of film marketing.

It is designed to assist participants on how to position their films with a primary focus on the most cost-effective ways to market their projects and includes the following areas:

*maximising the online environment

*marketing to financiers

*approaching buyers

*completing presales and sales

*mastering legal issues

*budgeting marketing items

*planning cost-effectively

*using press and public relations

*creating visual design (sales sheets, brochures, posters)

*working with trailers and showreels editors

*matching distributors’ needs

*targeting international markets & festivals

*Successful film marketing

All these aspects are analysed through current industry examples enabling participants to apply them to their own projects.

Discount for EUROPA DISTRIBUTION & EUROPA INTERNATIONAL members

The regular participation fee (including accommodation in Luxembourg for the workshop-duration, full-board subsistence, except for one free evening) is 1.300 EUR.

Thanks to the partnership between EAVE & EUROPA DISTRIBUTION and EUROPA INTERNATIONAL, we are able to offer a reduced fee of 1.100 EUR for members. (Special scholarships are available for participants from the “new” EU member states or countries without proper support mechanism in place.)

EXTENDED DEADLINE: Film Finance Forum 2012

Call for Applications - Film Finance Forum 2012

EXTENDED DEADLINE for applications: March 9, 2012

EAVE Film Finance Forum 2012 takes place during April 19-22 in Luxembourg. It is an intensive four day workshop for European and international professionals on European film finance.

The EAVE Film Finance Forum provides an exploration and update of the latest financial developments and funding sources in Europe. It includes sessions on public and private finance, co-production, tax incentives, the sales and distribution market, banking services and new industry trends. Since most films produced in Europe are made with low to medium budgets, the Finance Forum will focus on its participants' real financial situation and provide them with solutions adapted to their needs and projects.

How does it work?

The workshop takes the form of an inclusive round table with presentations on various up-to-date topics followed by open discussion with the participants and leading industry experts from the finance and film businesses. In order to achieve a maximum level of interactivity the total number of participants is limited. This enables an approach focused on a small group and the specific needs of each participant as well as facilitating networking between participants and experts.

Leading European experts

The Film Finance Forum's team is composed of leading experts:

Christian Kmiotek (Head of Studies, Film Finance Forum & independent film finance expert)

Nuno Bernardo (beActive)

Wendy Bernfeld (Rights Stuff)

Carl Clifton (K5 International)

Roberto Olla (Eurimages)

Alexander Ris (Neue Mediopolis Filmproduktion)

Riina Sildos (Amrion)

Bernhard Stampfer (BS Media Finance Advisory)

Isabella Tessaro (MEDIA Programme)

Who can apply?

The Film Finance Forum is targeted to producers and associated film industry professionals, members of the financial and legal communities, policy makers, and consultants. It is also open to non-EU applicants, thanks to the support of MEDIA Mundus.

The selection of the candidates is based on the application file submitted by each applicant according to the form provided. EAVE evaluates the quality of the candidate's company, his/her and the company's track record and the level of professional background of the candidate(s). Priority is given to applicants working within independent and/or small and medium sized companies.

With music, fantasy and a glimpse of magic she touches the heart of so many people and achieves more than most grown-ups can: gaining tolerance, love and respect. In times of drastically increasing intolerance against Roma and Sinti we find it important to bring this film into the theatres, as it shows – in an entertaining way – how prejudices are born,” the producer says.
