EUROPEAN SHORT PITCH

Dear EAVE producers,

EAVE is proud to announce our partnership with the EUROPEAN SHORT PITCH.
NISI MASA is at its sixth edition of EUROPEAN SHORT PITCH

European Short Pitch (ESP) is an initiative aimed at promoting the European coproduction of short films which combines a scriptwriting workshop in residency, an on-line session and a coproduction forum bringing together scriptwriters and industry professionals from all over Europe.

ESP 2012 comes along with several exciting new partnerships, including: the Luxembourg Film Fund, Maribor 2012 European Capital of Culture, and the Bristol Encounters Film Festival.

The main events of ESP 2012 are planned for the following dates/locations:

- Jury meeting for selection of the finalist projects at Bristol Encounters Film Festival (UK), 16th November 2011

- Scriptwriting workshop in Luxembourg City, 3rd to 8th January 2012

- Pitching and coproduction forum in Maribor (Slovenia), 2nd to 4th March 2012

ESP is for creative teams developing international short film projects. It is therefore open to writers, directors and producers. The author(s) of the script must be between 18 and 35 years of age on the closing date of the call and resident in the European Union or one of the following countries: Croatia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine.

Special for EAVE producers: EAVE would like to offer 3 producers the opportunity to participate at the pitching and coproduction forum in Maribor (Slovenia), 2nd to 4th March 2012. Please send a letter of interest to tina@eave.org before the 20th of December.

DEADLINE EXTENDED! EAVE European Producers Workshop 2012

Extended deadline for the EAVE 2012 European Producers Workshop:October 7, 2011!

EAVE, European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs, is one of the leading training and development providers for producers in Europe, renowned for its European Producers Workshop.

Who is it for?

EAVE is aimed at producers, both fiction and documentary, who are already working in the film and television industries who wish to begin to operate on a European wide basis by increasing their knowledge of producing and co-producing in Europe and by building up a pan European professional network. We also welcome applications from associated branches of the industry – e.g. commissioning, funding, legal and finance, festivals & markets, media administration. Each year fifty participants are selected from most of the EU countries and beyond and take part in three one-week long workshops.

How does it work?

Half the participants attend the course with projects and it is an excellent means of development through intense focus on the project with colleagues and experts throughout the year. Most participants attending with a project also bring their writer for the first two weeks which enables producer and writer to benefit together from one-to-one sessions with script experts.

During the first two workshops, in March and June, participants work within groups led by experienced producers and with several experts on script analysis, development and production financing, legal aspects of co-production, marketing, pitching, packaging and more. In the third week in October, 40-50 Decision Makers (commissioning editors, national and regional media funds, sales agents, etc.) join the participants to discuss the projects, companies and careers of the participants, a process which offers unusual access to Europe's Decision Makers.

EAVE graduates join a unique network of active European producers which forms one of the backbones of the industry. Furthermore, EAVE participants and members benefit from our partnerships with the leading European film festivals and markets where EAVE facilitates graduate participation.

Timeline

The interviews with all candidates will take place in autumn 2011 and the selection will be announced in December 2011. The 3 workshops take place during March 12 - 19 (Luxembourg), June 13 - 20 (Croatia) and October, TBC (The Netherlands) 2012.

Extended Deadline for APPLICATIONS: October 7, 2011
