Producers Network Cannes 2011: APPLY NOW!

EAVE is delighted to be again partner of the prestigious Cannes Producers Network, taking place from May 12-18, 2011. In this framework, a selection of EAVE producers from the year 2010 will be chosen to take part in the Producers Network free of charge.

Criteria: Graduates who want to apply must be producers who have produced at least one feature film theatrically released within the last 3 years. The participant must show a credit as a producer, co-producer or executive producer. Line producer's or associate producer's credit will not be accepted.

For those of you who are interested, thanks for sending us a short CV and company profile and a motivation statement (incl. the information relevant regarding the criteria) to tina@eave.org.
The deadline is February 18, 2011.

THE PRODUCERS NETWORK was launched in 2004. Registration is limited to 2 producers per company and it also includes access to the Marché du Film and the Festival de Cannes.
Selection is not made on the basis of a project, but on the basis of the producer’s production experience.

Breakfast Meetings: a series of thematic roundtable discussions every morning, gathering about 200 industry professionals. Each table is 'hosted' by a moderator with a specific industry background, animating the discussion between a high profile guest of honor and a group of producers. Breakfast Meetings provide the ideal conditions to share expertise and identify potential producing partners.

Speed-dating sessions: During two hours, registered producers meet and exchange on their projects changing tables every 15-20 minutes. Each of these afternoon sessions of speed-dating welcome about 100 producers, each one with a special focus (Worlwide, Latin World, New Talents in association with the Short Film Corner).

The Producers Network Club: located at the heart of the Village International – Pantiero, it provides a more relaxed setting to meet with fellow producers, the film directors from the nearby Atelier du Festival and other film professionals during its daily Happy Hours. THE PRODUCERS NETWORK is designed to stimulate production and promote international co-production opportunities in today's competitive and dynamic market.

Please note that all EAVE participants can have one year free access to CINANDO, the largest online database of the international film industry powered by the Marche du Film – Festival de Cannes. Cinando.com provides the contacts of 9.500 companies, 24.000 buyers, producers and other professionals, and 9.900 titles of new films and projects. If you are interested, please get back to us.

Rotterdam Lab 2011

EAVE is delighted to be again partner of the Rotterdam Lab, taking place in the framework of the renowned CineMart Coproduction Market taking place from January 30 – February 2, 2011. This year again, a selection of EAVE producers from the year 2010 will be invited to the Rotterdam Lab.

Applications are already closed and the selected EAVE producers are:

- Janja Kralj, Kinoelektron, France

- Maria Tsigka, Argonauts Productions, Greece

CINEMART is the international co-production market of the International Film Festival Rotterdam. CINEMART was the first platform of its kind to offer filmmakers the opportunity to launch their ideas to the international film industry and to find the right connections to get their projects financed. Launching about 30-35 new projects in need of additional financing, CINEMART also heralds an important start of the 'film year'. Every year, the CINEMART invites a selected number of directors/producers to present their film projects to co-producers, bankers, funds, sales agents, distributors, TV stations and other potential financiers. The CINEMART staff organizes the CINEMART one-on-one meetings prior to the event. One of CINEMART’s trademarks is the highly productive, yet informal atmosphere.

Concurrent to the project market CINEMART organizes the Rotterdam Lab, a 5-day workshop for emerging producers. The cooperation with partners all over the world makes for a very international group of around 60 producers who are offered a programme of pitching workshops, panel discussions and speed dating sessions and who have the possibility at CINEMART to broaden their network and present their companies. These producers are selected through CINEMART’s partnering organisations.

Traditionally, panel discussions are organised on different topics such as development, production, sales, financing, distribution, press & promotion and television. These panels take place in an informal setting and are organised to illustrate the process by which a project in need of financing is completed and brought to its audience. In these panels, experts from the industry give the producers tools on how to present their project and how to build up an international network.

Complimentary to the panels, participants take part in “speed-dating” sessions, during which they have time to meet personally with industry delegates and receive advice on their own projects.

In addition to the organised programme, it is important that the producers take the chance to participate in all other CineMart events, such as networking lunches, cocktails and other panels. They are encouraged to take advantage of their time in Rotterdam as much as possible by strengthening their network.

Over the past few years, the Rotterdam Lab has expanded steadily, with more producers from more regions participating every year. The Lab has already resulted in many producers returning to CineMart, and films by producers who have attended the Lab have been screened in the Official Festival Programme. By bringing together a mix of producers from around Europe and the rest of the world, the Rotterdam Lab has also generated many alluring international co-productions.
