Awards March 2017

Romanian Film Awards

  • SIERANEVADA by Cristi Puiu, co-producers: EAVE graduates Zdenka Gold and Labina Mitevska, executive producer: EAVE graduate Oana Giurgiu takes all the main awards at the Gopos, the Romanian Film Awards. The film won Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Leading Actress (Dana Dogaru) and Best Supporting Actress (Ana Ciontea).
  • DOGS by Bogdan Mirica, producer: EAVE graduate Marcela Ursu, co-producers: EAVE graduates Stephan Komandarev and Katya Trichkova, line producer: EAVE graduate Marcian Lazar was the other big winner of the ceremony held in Bucharest. The six trophies included Best First Feature and Best Leading Actor (Gheorghe Visu), Best Supporting Actor (Vlad Ivanov), Best Supporting Actress (Ada Ciontea), Best Cinematography and Best Score.
  • SCARRED HEARTS by Radu Jude, producer: EAVE graduate & Romanian National Coordinator Ada Solomon won four awards: Best Art Direction, Best Costumes, Best Hairstyling 
  • ILLEGITIMATE by Adrian Sitaru, producer: EAVE graduate Anamaria Antoci was crowned Best New Hope ex aequo with DOGS and SCARRED HEARTS
  • A MERE BREATH, produced and directed by EAVE graduate Monica Lazurean-Gorgan was awarded Best Doucumentary.


Sofia International Film Festival

  • GODLESS by Ralitza Petrovam, co-producers: EAVE graduate Katrin Pors and Mikkel Jersin won the Grand Prix and the Award for Best Bulgarian Feature Film.
  • SLAVA (GLORY) by Kristina Grozeva, Petar Valchanov, co-producer: EAVE graduate Konstantina Stavrianou was awarded Best Balkan Film and received the Award of the Bulgarian Guild of Film Critics
  • MY HAPPY FAMILY by Nana Ekvtimishvili and Simon Gross, producers: Marketing Workshop graduate Jonas Katzenstein, EAVE graduate Guillaume de Seille was awarded Best Director
  • QUIT STARING AT MY PLATE by Hana Jusic, producer: EAVE graduate Ankica Juric Tilic received a Special Mention
  • CLAIR OBSCUR by Yesim Ustaoglu, producer: EAVE+ graduate Titus Kreyenberg received a Special Mention.


Icelandic Academy Awards

  • CUBS by Nanna Kristin Magnusdottir, producer: EAVE graduate Eva Sigurdardottir received an the Edda for Best Short at the Icelandic Academy Awards.


Belgrade International Film Festival

  • QUIT STARING AT MY PLATE by Hana Jusic, producer: EAVE graduate Ankica Juric Tilic is the winner of the Belgrade International Film Festival. The film won a Belgrade Victor for Best Film and the Best Actress award (Arijana Culina).
  • EAVE project HEARTSTONE by Gudmundur Arnar Gudmundsson, producer: Anton Mani Svansson received the Jury Award and Best Debut.  
  • SUNTAN by Argyris Papadimitropoulos, producer: EAVE graduate Phaedra Vokali, co-producers: EAVE graduates Konstantina Stavrianou, EAVE Marketing Workshop graduate Theodora Valentis won Best Screenplay.
  • EAVE project FORTNIGHT by Aga Woszczynska, producer: EAVE graduate Agnieszka Wasiak received the EWA women award


Norwegian Film Critics Association Awards

  • THE KING’S CHOICE by Erik Poppe, co-producer: EAVE graduate Lesley McKimm was named Best Norwegian Film of 2016 by the Norwegian Film Critics Association. Recently, THE KING’S CHOICE won the Norwegian film industry’s Canon Awards for Best Script (Harald Rosenløw Eeg, Jan Trygve Røyneland), Best Producers (Finn Gjerdrum, Stein B Kvae), Best Actor (Jesper Christensen) and Best Cinematography (John Christian Rosenlund), and the Audience Award.


Bergamo Film Meeting

  • WHEN PAUL CAME OVER THE SEA by Jakob Preuss, producer: EAVE graduate Jakob Weydemann won the CGIL Bergamo Award for Best Documentary at the Bergamo Film Meeting
  • VOIR DU PAYS by by Delphine Coulin & Muriel Coulin, co-producer: EAVE+ graduate Fenia Cossovitsa was awarded the Bergamo Film Meeting Third Prize.


Luxemburg City Film Festival

  • EAVE Marketing Workshop project RICHARD THE STORK by Toby Genkel and Reza Memari, producer: EAVE graduate Kristine Knudsen won the Audience Award at the Luxemburg City Film Festival.


Cartagena Film Festival

  • PUENTES project AMAZONA, directed, written and produced by EAVE graduate Nicolas Van Hemelryck won the Premio del Público EGEDA at the Cartagena Film Festival.


Swiss Film Awards

  • ALOYS by Tobias Nölle, producers: EAVE+ graduate Christof Neracher and EAVE graduate and French National Coordinator Jean des Forêts was awarded Best Cinematography at the Swiss Film Awards.


Polish Film Academy Awards

  • COMMUNION by Anna Zamecka, producer: EAVE graduate Anna Wydra was awarded Best Documentary at the Eagles, the annual awards for Polish film, handed out by the Polish Film Academy.


Czech Film and Television Academy Awards

  • I, OLGA HEPNAROVA by Petr Kazda, Tomas Weinreb, co-producer: EAVE graduate Guillaume de Seille won Best Actress (Michalina Olszanska) at the Czech Lion Awards of the Czech Film and Television Academy.


International Film Festival and Forum for Human Rights

  • THE GOOD POSTMAN by Tonislav Hristov, producer: EAVE graduate Kaarle Aho won the Young Jury Award at the International Film Festival and Forum for Human Rights (FIFDH), Geneva.
  • EAVE project MIMOSAS by Oliver Laxe, producer: EAVE graduate Felipe Lage Coro received a Special Mention of this jury.


Danish Film Critics Awards

  • THE COMMUNE by Thomas Vinterberg, co-producer: EAVE graduate Laurette Schillings won the Bodil Award for Best Danish Actress (Trine Dyrholm) given by the Danish Film Critics.
  • TONI ERDMANN by Maren Ade, producer: EAVE graduate Jonas Dornbach, co-producers: EAVE graduate and Romanian National Coordinator Ada Solomon and EAVE graduate Antonin Svoboda was awarded Best Non-US Feature.


Finnish National Film Awards

  • EAVE project THE HAPPIEST DAY IN THE LIFE OF OLLI MÄKI by Juho Kosmanen, producer: EAVE graduate Jussi Rantamäki, co-producer: EAVE graduate Nicklas Wikström Nicastro is the big winner of the Finnish National Film Awards. The film won eight Jussis: Best Film, Best Director, Best Cinematography (J-P Passi), Best Actor (Jarkko Lahti), Best Supporting Actress (Oona Airola), Best Editing (Jussi Rautaniemi), Best Costume Design and Best Make-Up Design.
  • LITTLE WING by Selma Vilhunen, producer: EAVE graduate Kaarle Aho won the Jussi for Best Actress (Linnea Skog)


Hellenic Film Awards

  • SUNTAN by Argyris Papadimitropoulos, producer: EAVE graduate Phaedra Vokali, co-producers: EAVE graduates Konstantina Stavrianou, EMW graduate Theodora Valentis won six Prizes at the Hellenic Film Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Screenplay, as well as acting gongs for both its lead, Makis Papadimitriou, and his supporting co-star Elli Tringou.
  • LIMBO by EAVE graduate Konstantina Kotzamani, producer: EAVE graduate Maria Dandraki was awarded Best Short Film.


Cinélatino Rencontres de Toulouse

  • PUENTES project REY by Niles Atallah, producer: EAVE graduate Lucie Kalmar won the Prix Découverte de la Critique de Francaise at the Cinélatino Rencontres de Toulouse.


Málaga Film Festival of Spanish-language Cinema

  • SUMMER 1993 by Carla Simon, producer: EAVE graduate and Spanish National Coordinator Maria Zamora won the Golden Biznaga for Best Spanish Film at the Málaga Film Festival of Spanish-language Cinema.

Donate to the EAVE Alan Fountain International Scholarship Fund

A scholarship has been set up to honour the memory of Alan Fountain, former Head of Studies and President of EAVE, who passed away on March 3. Its goal is to enable one producer from outside the EU to participate in all three sessions of the EAVE Producers Workshop each year.
