Founded in 1988, our objectives are to provide professional training opportunities and to bring producers from different regions of the world together with the aim of facilitating co-production relationships. We believe that the support of independent voices, creative imagination and culturally driven companies within the global media industries is an urgent necessity in the 21st century. Through our work we aim to contribute towards the creation of strong networks of producers and to encourage the exchange of knowledge and skills which will strengthen independent production across the world.
]]>For almost all EAVE graduates, EAVE has been a valuable and positive experience which enabled them to push their careers even further, resulted in many co-productions and enhanced their knowledge on the European film industry. The contacts formed during the EAVE training proved to be extremely fruitful and have contributed to building up a strong network among EAVE graduates and decision makers.

Within the framework of the MEDIA Production Guarantee Fund (MPGF),we are looking for feature film, animation and TV projects from MEDIAprogram member countries* to apply for one-to-one session with Germanfinanciers in Cannes.
MEDIA Production Guarantee Fund is a new initiative that makes it easier forfilm producers to receive bank loans. Its aim is to partially guarantee loans madeby banks, based in the MEDIA 2007 territories, to film producers to cash-flow filmproductions on the basis of "receivables".
This special one to one session will help the selected participants finding cofinancing and bridge financing attached to the Guarantee.
Project criteria:
• Major producer from a MEDIA program country
• Feature film, animation and TV projects
• Total budget starting from EUR 2M€
• At least 50% of funding in place
• Interest in attaching a German co-producer to project
• Available on 22nd May 2012 afternoon for a 1 to 1 meeting during the Cannes Film Festival
The session will help you to potentially find:
• a minor German co-producer
• a bridge financing contract including a 50% guarantee with a major German bank

Based on a novel by Philippe Vilain, the film tells the story of a Parisian teacher who is transferred to a provincial town in northern France and embarks on an unlikely relationship with a hairdresser.
- VIA CASTELLANA BANDIERA by Emma Dante, producer: EAVE 1991 graduate Andres Pfaeffli is in pre-production. Production Companies: Offside Film, Vivo Film and Ventura Film. The film about two women who meet at the wheel of their respective cars in an extremely narrow street and one will have to roll back is financed by Eurimages and MiBAC (Italian Culture Ministry).
- AMOUR FOU, written and directed by Jessica Hausner, producer: EAVE 2004 graduate Antonin Svoboda is in pre-production. The film is based on the historical double suicide of Heinrich von Kleist and Henriette Vogel. Financing: Filmfonds Wien; shooting on locations in Vienna and Berlin.
- CHASING THE WIND by Rune Langlo Denstad, producer: EAVE 1995 graduate Sigve Endresen is in pre-production. The film tells the story of Anna who has not seen her family in 10 years, but when her grandmother dies, she goes back for an unexpected homecoming. Budget: $4M, financing: Norwegian Film Institute. Shooting on Norwegian locations starts in May.
- BLIND by Eskil Vogt, producer: EAVE 1995 graduate Sigve Endresen is in pre-production. Financed by the Norwegian Film Institute the film brings together a 30-year-old woman who is recently blind, a 30-year-old single mother, and a lone 40-year-old man.
- LION HEART, the youth film of director Dome Karukoski, written and produced by EAVE 2002 graduate & Finnish National Coordinator Aleksi Bardy, is supported by the Finnish Film Foundation. The film with a budget of 1.5 M € received a grant of 50 % by the Finnish Film Foundation.
- SUPERNOVA by Tamar van den Dop, producer: Raymond van der Kaaij, has received funding from Filmfund Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein and from the Flemish Audiovisual Fund. Backers of the project are the Dutch Filmfund, Rotterdam Media Fund and Nordmedia. Shooting of the Revolver Media production in co-production with COIN Film, Epidemic Film and IJswater Films Financing is planned for August.
- WHOSE COUNTRY?, the documentary with animation by Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Siam, producer: EAVE Interchange 2010 graduate Talal Al-Muhanna received production funding from the Jan Vrijman Fund and Hot Docs Blue Ice Film Documentary Fund.
- Meetings On The Bridge: among the 7 projects to be supported by the Turkish-German Co-Production Fund is Ilker Catak and Johannes Drucker’s SPÄTKAUF. Producers: Rix Film and EAVE 2011 graduate Enis Köstepen of Bulut film.
- EAVE 2005 graduate: Patrice Nezan’s lesfilmsduprésent has been granted a slate development fund by the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region for the 3 following projects:- AURORE by Stéphane Vuillet and Chloé Martinon. The film was developed with support from the MEDIA Programme and the French Authors Society - Feature documentary BOYZONE by Clarisse Hahn. The comedy tells the story of an actor in a children's program who learns from news of his own tragic death and disguises himself at his funeral. Shooting in New York, Germany and Luxembourg is panned from April 16 to mid-June.

- DARK BY NOON, a privately-financed feature film produced by 2009 EAVE graduate Cormac Fox is currently in post-production, due to finish late 2012. The sci-fi thriller is written and directed by Alan Leonard.
- MY NAME IS JANEZ JANSA by Janez Jansa, co-producer: EAVE group leader Danijel Hocevar is in post-production. The documentary by the conceptual artist on names and identity, focuses on the case of himself and two other Slovenian artists who five years ago officially changed their names to that of the prime minister of that time, Janez Jansa.
- SENSE OF SEX by Maryna Gorbach and Mehmet Bahadir Er, producer: EAVE 2010 graduate Olena Yershova, is funded by The Work in Progress which supports feature films and documentaries that have completed 50% of the shooting or are in post-production. ]]>After the great success of the PUENTES workshops for European and Latin American producers and the AUSTRALAB industry meetings in Valdivia, we are delighted to announce the selection for PUENTES - AUSTRALAB, a new and innovative platform connecting professionals from Europe and Latin America.
PUENTES - AUSTRALAB combines producer training, project development, co-production meetings and distribution opportunities and offers a strong and direct connection between the different agents of the value chain of film production in Europe and Latin America: development, training and access to the markets, encouraging the distribution and circulation of films by bringing together the key players: talents-producers-financiers-sales agents-distributors-cinema owners.
The workshop modules bring together five European and five Latin American producers with their feature projects in development for two workshops in Montevideo, Uruguay, from April 25-29, 2012, and Valdivia, Chile, during the Festival Internacional de Cine de Valdivia, from October 10-14, 2012. After the second session, targeted co-production meetings in Valdivia will be organized around the 10 selected projects following the workshop.

We are delighted to announce that TIES THAT BIND Asia-Europe Producers Workshop will feature in 2012 two workshops again: the first one in Udine (Italy) during the Udine Far East Film Festival from April 21-26, 2012 and the second one in Busan (South Korea) during the Busan International Film Festival in parallel to the Asian Project Market from October 7-11, 2012.
The programme brings together five producers with feature projects from Asia and five from Europe. During the two workshops they will work together with top level experts from both continents on script development, co-production between Asia and Europe, financing in the two regions, legal aspects of co-production, marketing, pitching and promotion, and meet with decision makers during both sessions.

It’s now only two months until the deadline for The Aesthetica Short Film Festival 2012 (ASFF). Filmmakers from across the world are sending in their entries, and we’ve already assembled an amazing line-up of masterclasses, lectures and networking opportunities! ASFF is a unique film event, showing international short film in 15 iconic locations across the historic city of York from 8-11 November 2012.
ASFF 2012 provides an excellent platform for filmmakers that enables them to connect with new worldwide audiences while interacting with some of the biggest personalities in the film industry today.
The winner will receive £500 among other prizes and screenings at a number of other UK festivals and the runner-up will receive £250. A shortlist of finalists will be included on the ASFF Sampler DVD, which will be distributed with the December 2012 issue of Aesthetica Magazine, an international arts and culture publication. Finalists will also be included in an editorial feature in the magazine, which has a worldwide circulation of over 100,000.
